About the Soloist: Ariel Mitnick

Ariel Mitnick Praised for her “spirit, skill and poise to spare,” 14 year old Ariel Mitnick made her orchestral debut with the Westchester Philharmonic in April of last year, under the baton of Paul Lustig Dunkel. She then performed with them again during their summer concert series. Last fall, she performed alongside The Westchester Philharmonic’s professional musicians at a 9/11 Memorial Concert. She has also performed a remembrance concert at the Ground Zero site.

Ariel’s solo recitals include performance at the Hamptons Music Festival, the Catskill Mountain Color of Music Series as well as the International Snug Harbor Music Festival. At age 11, she won the Manhattan School of Music Concerto Competition, which led to her performance with the Manhattan School of Music Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of James Sadewhite. Recently, Ariel was a semi finalist at the International Yehudi Menuhin Youth Competition for Young Violinists. For the last 3 years, Ariel has been an award winner of the David Froelich Youth Competition.

Ariel was invited to play at a live webcast with the Manhattan School of Music Chamber Sinfonia of the College Division under the baton of Pinchas Zukerman. Last summer, Ariel performed live on the WAMC public radio station. Ariel has had master classes with Kyoko Takezawa and Pinchas Zukerman.

Currently, Ariel attends Manhattan School of Music where she is a student of Grigory Kalinovsky.
